The Hull:

 

Hal has a GRP hull, circa 1974. The boat was lifted in 2017 for maintenance and the hull was found to be sound, with no signs of osmosis. The upper hull is painted black, with white-silver detailing. The lower hull was re-antifouled on that 2017 lift-out.

Hal has two 'bilge keels, meaning she can sail into shallow waters and then stand up on her own when the tide recedes.
